Where is your office located?

I work virtually with people throughout Wisconsin. Wherever you go, my office comes with you.

How does online therapy work?

Online therapy is the same as in-person therapy, only in a virtual setting. Many people find it easier to share their genuine thoughts and feelings from the comfort of their own safe space.

How long is a typical session?

Sessions are typically 50 minutes and may run a bit longer if needed.

Do you accept private pay?

Yes. I am happy to provide you with a super bill for submission to your insurance company for reimbursement. I cannot guarantee if or how much you can be reimbursed, so check with your insurance company if this is important for your finances.

Do you take insurance?

Yes. I accept Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Wisconsin, Carelon, Cigna, Medica, Meritain, Optum, UMR, UnitedHealthcare, and VA Community Care Network (VACCN).

What is your cancellation policy?

It’s my privilege to carve out time specifically for you. Since I have limited availability, I must enforce a 24-hour cancellation policy. I know life can get complicated so you can cancel your appointment for any reason up to 24 hours before your appointment. However, if a session is canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled time, you will be charged a late cancellation fee of $75.

What do I do to get started?

Reach out to me on this website to schedule a free initial consultation. After we have spoken and agree that we are good fit, I will send you a link to complete several brief forms (i.e., enter your insurance information, sign the consent forms, and enroll in autopay). If you plan to use insurance, we will verify your insurance and any out-of-pocket expenses before your first appointment. Your initial session can often be scheduled within one week. Once scheduled, you will be sent a direct and secure Zoom link to attend your first session.

What is the best way to reach you?

I check my phone and email messages throughout the day during the work week. You are welcome to text me at 715-256-8028 or email me at DBTCenterofWisconsin@proton.me.

What is a free phone consultation?

A free phone consultation is an opportunity to ask questions, share your concerns, and determine whether we are a good fit for your treatment needs.

What age range do you work with?

I work with adults ages 18 or older.

Do you work with men? Women? Couples? Adolescents?

I work with men and women. However, I do not work with couples or individuals younger than 18.

Are you licensed?

I am a licensed clinical social worker in Wisconsin (LCSW License # 7924-123 WI).

What is your professional training and experience?

My training includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and DBT Prolonged Exposure trauma therapy. I often include other therapeutic approaches to best meet the individualized needs of the clients I work with. Since 2008, I have worked with clients who struggle with trauma-related symptoms, PTSD, and borderline personality disorder.

Can my pet sit with me during my session?

Absolutely, animals are so therapeutic and their love is unconditional. I encourage it!
